Bligh Park was named after William Bligh who was the officer of the British Royal Navy and also known as a Colonial Administrator, Hawkesbury Settlers supported the then Governor, which is why the streets are named after the ships and people who were on the First Fleet. The history that surrounds the humble suburb is quite intriguing and rich with stories much like its other historical neighbourly suburbs of the Hawkesbury Region.
