About Windsor

Windsor is a historic town and suburb located in the Hawkesbury City region, in New South Wales. Nestled between Pitt Town, McGraths Hill and South Windsor. Windsor is a landmark that holds an abundance of rich history and is located 54kms from Sydney’s CBD.

Windsor is the third oldest place of the British settlement in 1791, near the head of navigation on the Hawkesbury River. Previously named Green Hills but soon renamed as Windsor, the town was proclaimed in a Government and General Order from the Government House on December 15th 1810, solidifying the town we now all know as Windsor – a Macquarie Town.
