Richmond is well known for being one of the original five Macquarie Towns, Richmond is located at the foot of the mountains approximately 65 kilometers northwest from Sydney central business district in the local government area of City of Hawkesbury postcode 2753, with a population over 5,500 residents Richmond continues to be filled rich with history.

The area was explored by British settlers in 1789, the name was given by Governor Arthur Phillip, in honor of Charles Lennox, the third Duke of Richmond, who was Master General of Ordnance in the Pitt Administration.
